Phnom Penh Hash House Harriers
The Phnom Penh Hash House Harriers (P2H3) go running and walking at different locations around Phnom Penh every Sunday. You should come too ! Why....?
...to get out and see the places around Phnom Penh you haven't seen but always wondered about.
...to visit the Cambodian rural villages, meet Cambodian rural people and breath the beautiful, fresh rural air.
...to see the humungous, towering grey clouds casting gorgeous rainbows over the sun-drenched rice paddies.
...to laugh along with the Khmer kids as they come out to shout 'Hello' to all the crazy Barang runners.
...to have a cool down afterwards with a drink and a laugh and to sing songs as dusk approaches with a bunch of likeable but incredulous characters.
...and to get
fit, of course. You don't have to run, you can just have a leisurely walk
, or
run half and walk half. Whatever you like ! Everybody’s welcome. A fee of
$5.00 for expats ($2.00 for 12 to 18 y.o.’s) and 5000R for Khmers is charged
and it's 2000R for children under 12yo. This fee includes all bottled water, cool
drinks and beer. Running distance is approximately 8km and we’re always happy
to see new faces.
We meet at 2:45 pm. every Sunday in front of the railway station (see Map) and there are usually plenty of places available in cars if you need a lift to the weeks chosen hash destination.
If you wish you can simply hop on one of the endless supply of moto-taxis and say the following words to the driver
s'th*ânee ru-uht
ph*lûhng
(click for sound)
Which means 'Railway Station' in Khmer.
Hope to see you there !
